Made my own couch to 10k plan for you guys :)
If you feel like you can’t keep up with one of the scheduled runs, do the best that you can and just repeat that day’s workout until you can get through it before moving on to the next scheduled run!
JUNE SQUATS CHALLENGE!
Remember, this is for beginners so if you can do more than the suggested amount feel free to multiply the # by 2 or 3 or simply add 10 to every day.
Also, the last day can either be a rest day in preparation for next months challenge or you can use it to do a MAX day! See how many squats you can possibly do in a row :)
Good luck!
Before and during :) still have about 5-10 lb to lose!
150.6 lb (January 2012) vs. 134.0 lb (May 2012)
I like written versions of workouts better than having to watch the DVDs, so I typed up the P90X Arms and Shoulders routine for you guys!
Today was supposed to be a rest day but since I only ran 3.43 miles combined the past 2 days instead of the 5 I had scheduled, I figured I should go out and run a mile or so just to add to my weekly mileage. I downloaded the Zombies, Run! app (Thanks to whoever suggested that! I had heard about it when I didn’t have an iPhone and now that I do I’m so glad you reminded me to download it!!) and headed out.
Although the game didn’t make me run faster or distract me from how tired I was, it was a lot more interesting than just listening to my music. It actually makes me want to download audio books for my future long runs!
I ended up running 2.18 miles in 21:31 (9:51 pace). Felt pretty good :)
Current Weekly Mileage = 8.62

I’m starting a new weekly post called Mileage Monday where I post my workout schedule for the week. Mileage refers to the fact that the majority of my workouts are based on running, especially now that I’m starting to train for a half marathon!
PLEASE feel free to participate in your own “Mileage Monday”! If you do an MM post, message me with a link to it and I will promo your post to my followers :)

Total Running Mileage = 12 miles
Yesterday I ran in a 5k race in downtown Columbus, OH. It was the biggest race I’ve EVER been to and included a half marathon, a quarter marathon, and the 5k. There were 13,000 participants! The 5k, however, had just 513 runners and walkers participating.

(My boyfriend and I before the start of the race)
Both of the 5k races I’ve previously completed have been very flat. Yesterday’s was definitely not. There were a few hilly spots on the running trail and a definite incline during the last mile that had me feeling like death would be better than running at that moment lol. I mapped the course afterwards because my iPhone said I had gone further than 3.1 and the course was actually 3.3 miles! NOT a good course for a goal time, that’s for sure.
Another thing that pissed me off was that at the start of the race, a ton of WALKERS were at the front of the line. So I had to run all crazy-like to avoid running into them. I mean honestly, I don’t care if you want to walk a 5k or any other type of race. But PLEASE get in the back of the line!!!! How rude!

(5k participants at the starting line)
I ended up finishing the 3.3 miles in 33:07, which is a 5k PR for me. Based on that pace, I’m estimating that I finished 3.1 miles in about 31 minutes.SO close to getting my sub 30 but just not close enough. I’m running another 5k in 3 weeks and it’s exactly 3.1 miles and should be a much flatter course. I hope I can finally get that sub 30!?
Print it out and put it where you’ll see it every day! Don’t slack off this May :)
